So, just some more info on my new apartment. Here are the unit’s details. I’ve got the 1209 sq/ft version, with a sunroom instead of a deck. Bear in mind that my floorplan is the mirror image.
I’m pretty damn excited to get out there now. I am more and more convinced that I made a good choice. Alta Trace is pretty centrally located in the area. I’m about 15 minutes from everything, and even closer to Durham. So I’ll have to drive to places, driving is part of everyone’s lives nowadays.
I’ve got lots to do in the interim though, decide which furniture moves, open a new bank account, buy a new car (and sell my existing car) and get it delivered to NC, finish fixing the house, get the house on the market, sell the house, arrange the movers, pack, get plane tickets, turn off the CA utilities, turn on the NC utilities, close my local bank account, activate (snail) mail forwarding, change all my subscription and billing addresses, not to mention actually getting moved, and whatever else I forgot.

Hey, neighbor!
I live in Alta Trace apartments, too!! Tonight, I spent a good 10 minutes looking for a parking space anywhere near my building. I hope you do end up getting a garage. Our location here at alta trace is pretty good for the area unless you need to go for a beer run; It’s about a good 10 minute drive to the nearest grocery store. The neighbors really suck on my end of the complex. The kids love to pump up the bass in their SUVs, and around 6am their carpool serves as my alarm clock since they honk and honk and honk their horn. They also like to hang out in the parking lot, which wouldn’t bother me if the walls weren’t paper thin and if they didn’t get into boisterous arguments prompting the cops to show up. The gals in the office are all pretty nice. It’s the maintenance guy who is a real jerk. I hope that you aren’t a champion of environmental causes since the automatic sprinkler system is always on, showering the sidewalks and parking lots with hundreds of gallons of wasted water…even during thunderstorms. And that is despite a horrible drought we endured last year. All in all, though, it’s been good. After a year of this, I’m shopping for a house in Raleigh.
How’s that for your welcome wagon?
