Well, it has been a while since I’ve put any new music up here. I have quite a number of songs in progress, some even started back in July, so it is funny that I’m uploading Run Away, which I only started 6 days ago. But I won’t try to understand how this music creation thing works, this one just happened to hold my interest to its completion. I do think it had something to do with my recent purchase of a weighted, 88-key keyboard, a large improvement over my old but trusty 49-key Roland.
It started with the idea of a repeated, c-minor, ascending, five note run. As they’re 1/16 notes, it takes 5 bars for the complete pattern to repeat, which makes for an interesting alignment issues in a normal 4/4, 4-bar phrase song, ie the bass-line and the run’s down-beats only meet up once every 20 bars. It makes it hard to quickly introduce new elements. The run also oscillates from left, to right, and back for every bar.
