So, I got my Tivo back last night! DalRae has decided that she won’t really have the time to be watching TV, so she doesn’t need the satellite or Tivo. Of course, I have no TV now, so I’ve got a ridiculous setup to use it. The satellite coax cables only let the Tivo reach the hallway. I then run normal coax to my computer’s tuner card. For audio, I have a powered-monitor sitting next to the Tivo in the hallway, plugged into the back of the Tivo with a RCA Y-adapter (all I could find). All in all, probably 100 feet of cable is involved here. All so I can watch the Tivo on my computer now, with the audio coming from behind me, and having to point the remote over my shoulder and aim it so it bounces off the wall into the Tivo just so. Ahhh, being a geek has its perks alright.

DalRae’s car’s speedometer broke yesterday, so the car is in the shop until Monday. So, I am letting her use my car, as I’ll be out of town until Monday night anyway. To facilitate her use of my car today, she stayed over on the couch, and drove me to work this morning. She’ll pick me up after work too. Having her in the house was definitely odd. It is weird to have this person who doesn’t _belong_ there anymore, and yet it felt so normal at the same time.

I’m off to North Carolina early tomorrow to find an apartment to rent. My parents are coming down too, so it’ll be nice to have support. We’re going to have dinner with my boss Saturday night as well, so that should be interesting. Just a quick three day trip, but it’ll be nice to have Monday off work, even if I am spending much of the day on airplanes.
