Final Stretch [Journal]

We met with our agent, Mark, tonight for over two hours. Right in the middle, we had one of the most pronounced earthquakes I’ve ever felt out here. After looking at the Earthquake Data Center, I found out it was a 3.9 near Berkeley, which is only 10 or so miles from where I live. But I digress…

Things are looking really good for our house. I don’t want to jinx our sale, but the market still appears to be strong out here. It won’t be the 15 offer, heavy over-bidding situation like when we bought our house, but we have a good change of getting multiple offers.

Apart from tomorrow night, when I’ll be having dinner with Kristin are her mom, I’ll be spending every waking moment cleaning, packing, and being sore. The goal is to have the house ready to show on Tuesday. Mark is planning on showing the house to people in his office, and thinks we might get general showings by Thursday. We’re hoping to have an open house next Sunday, the 14th. And 6 days later, I’m freakin out of here Sheesh, how times flies.

For a few days at least, I’m going to be living in a museum. Before I leave for work, I’ll have to make sure the place is in order. No dirty dishes, litter box, clothes, or floors. I’ll probably have to vacuum every day, make my bed, and hide any personal items such as my toothbrush. Ok so I’m spoiled, but this will be a large adjustment. I’m not a piggish person, but I’m also not a neat freak. Oh well, it is only for a week or two.
